just a thought – perhaps the NYT HR person thought they were hiring Billy Crystal for the job of opinion page humorist, (way back in aught 7 i believe it was), and ever since the new guy has been consistently coming up with knee slappin funny pages week after week, so there’s been no need to step in and ask for some comic stripiness already. okay, the laffs are clearly inadvertant, and it’s more of a republican kind of “funny” – but i think it’s time for the times to step up and make the most of the lemons they find themselves with. i would suggest a contest to see who can find the most factual errors the quickest each week; and we’ve got us some strong contenders making moves for the big prize in this weeks episode – here (two minutes) and here (untimed).
